Here they are! Enjoy!

Mayday Celebration, Saying goodbye, princess parties...

Yesterday Jonas and Maddie did their annual spring performance at preschool, which they call the Maypole celebration. Anyway, it was really cute, and both kids did a good job. I was pleasantly surprised that Jonas made it through the whole thing, he had a few moments where he looked like he would just lay on the ground and not do anything, but he didn't! He really enjoyed using the instruments they got to play for their performance, and the different hand motions and clapping their hands. It was cute! Maddie kept smiling at me the whole time, and seemed a little nervous in front of everyone. Last night we went to the Bakers Crust for dinner, we had a girls night since it was the Father/Son campout. It was me with my two girls, Marie with Harmony, Brooke with Rueben, Jenn with her three girls, and Barbara with her two girls. It was quite the crowd of kids. It was bittersweet since we knew it would be the last time we'd see Marie in awhile since she and her hubby are moving to Guam with the Navy. I will miss her a lot, but I know we'll keep in touch. Now I'm getting ready for Maddie's princess party. Jenn did the decorating for me. She is the best when it comes to this stuff, I just handed her scissors, or whatever she needed. So if you are in the area and you need someone to decorate she's your woman! Thanks Jenn! It looks awesome! I'll post pictures later. I need to go shower and finish up for the party! There are going to be 12 little girls at my house today.... yikes!

Strawberry Picking

Today for playgroup we went Strawberry Picking in Pungo, Virginia. It's only 35 minutes away, but it is definately not the big city! Eliza had so much fun picking the strawberries, and actually picked for quite awhile before she finally tasted one! (we got several greeen ones since she didn't quite understand just pick the red ones!) We got two bucket fulls of strawberries... they are so yummy! Have you ever tasted a freshly picked strawberry that is still warm from the sun? I don't think you can beat that taste, it's so yummy! Some of the other kids our group were too busy eating their strawberries to put them in their buckets and were covered in red juice! It was perfect weather it was warm, but not humid! It was a fun way to spend the morning!

Scavenger Hunt Pictures

I got these pictures from our Scavenger Hunt, and I forgot to mention that thankfully our friends son Josh (nice name!) was with us and that made it easier to take pictures of all of us! We also were the first one's back and got pictures of everything too, which we were proud of ourselves about! We're dorky, but it was a lot of fun! I guess this is what us "crazy" mormons do when we have a chance to break away from the kids and go out on the town. These pictures were e-mailed to me from Holly. Thanks Holly! Some of the things we're in front of: The Chrysler Museum, USS Wisconsin, lots of Mermaids that are all around town, The Attucks Theater, Doumars, MacArthur Memorial, Veterans Memorial, Tea House (sorry don't remember its exact name, but it was neat!), The Scope, Moses House, St. Pauls Episcapal Church, and Some random sailor statue. Anyway, these are things all in downtown Norfolk, so if you're ever in town you should come and check it out!

Mothers Day weekend!

We had a fun weekend! Friday night we had a get to know you activity at church, and we were paired up with another couple and sent on a scavenger hunt around Norfolk to find different things and take our picture "as a group" (they really stressed this!) in front of everything. I realized though we've lived here in Norfolk for 3 years, there were still things I hadn't seen. It was fun to run all over town (while our kids were doing their own activity at church! woo hoo for free babysitting!) and we had lots of fun with our friends Joe and Holly! I will post those pics when I get them since we let them use their camera, we did get one picture of us in front of the USS Wisconsin (I have been there). Saturday was Jonas's friend Ethan's birthday party. (my friend Marie's son) We went to the park, the kids played had cake and icecream, and watched him open up his presents, it was fun. Josh took the kids to get me a mothers day present, which they gave me Sunday morning Chocolate covered peaunut butter filled pretzels (very yummy!), and a nice candle. The kids made stuff at school which they gave me, Jonas decorated a flower pot with butterflies made of his thumb prints (so cute!), although the flower already looks like it's dying, I gave it too much water I think. Then Maddie made me this big cement stone that has her picture on it and lots of pretty color stones. The primary had the kids put their handprints on a potholder with a cute little poem with their picture on it. I was thouroughly spoiled, and Josh cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner, it was great! All in all a great weekend! I felt very loved, and the kids were so cute they kept telling me Happy Mothers Day!

Preparations....

I think I'm almost done purchasing things for Maddie's princess party. Today my order from oriental trading company arrrived with some of the most essential items for the party which are:
pink and purple tiaras, princess wands (I chose some inflatable ones, they were a little cheaper!), princess pens (to go with the little princess notepads everyone will be getting), the princess craft magnet, and a game which is called, pin the crown on the princess. =)
I've already gotten some princess necklaces, earrings, and rings. They were all told to arrive in their princess dresses. All I need now is to purchase some ring pops for the goody bags!
It should be a fun party. I still have to finalize the games, and with the help of my good friend Jenn http://my3grits.com the decorations should look pretty cute! Don't you all wish you could attend?!
As the party is getting closer, I have to admit I'm getting excited to have it. Mostly I can't wait to take pictures of Maddie with friends looking so cute!

You won't believe this....

Today I picked up the kids a half hour early from school, (so they could be babysatt while I went to lunch for my friend Jenn's Birthday) and the first thing Jonas says to me is, "Mom, I don't want to leave I still have more school!" This is coming from the kid who just this morning did not want to go to school at all!

Maddie's friend....

Maddie has a friend in her preschool class named Catherine (she's such a cutie, don't you just love her beautiful red hair!), and for the past couple of weeks her Mom and I have been getting them together to play. First she came to our house, then last week it was her house. We've decided to take turns every Thursday until the end of school getting them together. They've had lots of fun stamping, coloring, playing dress up, and now it's snack time and time to watch a movie! (hey I just do what I'm told!)

Maddie is getting very excited about her Princess Birthday party we're having in a few weeks. I'll be glad when its over so I no longer have to think about it! She's literally talked about her Birthday since Christmas!

Busy month...

I know I've been a bad blogger. Here's the deal, its been a busy month. Jonas' class went on a field trip to the Botanical Gardens. The flowers and weather were both beautiful. Jonas enjoyed the ride on the little shuttle bus the most, and the fountain. (he didn't care much about the whole nature part)

Speaking of the weather it has been great weather so we've managed to go to the park several times. It's nice that Eliza is older now, she loves to swing, and will even go down the slides too! (on her tummy feet first of course!) She's so brave!

We have had some bad luck lately with our car. We drove up to Maryland one Saturday and on our way home our front left tire went flat, but it wasn't a big deal we changed the tire and went home. We decided to wait until the following week to buy a new tire, in the meantime, I took a weekend with some of my girlfriends to Raleigh, North Carolina to go to the Time out for Women! It was a fabulous time. The talks were great, the music was great. Overall, it's exactly the spiritual boost that I needed. We made it almost all the way home before my front right side tire went flat. This time I had no spare, so I had to get a tow truck. Thankfully some friends were in a nearby vehicle, so they took some of my passengers home and my friend Jenn stayed with me to wait for the tow truck. We waited 2 hours for the tow truck, but the time went fast with all our gibber-jabbing! Still no word yet on what our future plans are, right now we're on pause in Norfolk, and maybe we'll stay here. When we know, I will share that information on here! Here are some pictures! Enjoy!

Catching up...

This month has just flown by! It was spring break last week, but it felt more like the middle of winter for us! The kids and I took a road trip, which led us to my sisters house in Maryland, then we went to my parents house in Ft.Wayne, Indiana. On our way there it snowed, most of the time we were there it rained, it snowed and was really really cold. (see the snow on our car!) We did get two sunny days while we were there, and then managed to get a rain free trip most of the way home. While at my parents we had a pre-birthday party for Maddie. (her birthday isn't until the end of May) My Mom made her a pink birthday cake (with "help" from Jonas and Maddie who mostly licked the frosting!) and Maddie had presents too. It was a fun little party. Then we decorated easter eggs, and of course the easter bunny visited Grandma's house! It was a lot of fun. Eliza especially loved to play Grandma's piano, she played it every chance she got! We had fun seeing old friends, and then it was time to go home.

Our crazy adventures... with 4 great kids...
